State Action Team
North Carolina DECA
State President
Kaitlyn Dutton
Hello North Carolina DECA! I am Kaitlyn Dutton, your 2011-2012 State President. I am a Senior at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, SKO'VIKES! I plan on majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at East Carolina University when I graduate. I nanny for a family in my neighborhood and love taking care of kids. In my spare time I enjoy dancing. I have been dancing for seven years and do ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, and hip-hop. I also attend a great church and have a fun youth group that I enjoy going to. I love being with my friends, family, and boyfriend that always support me in whatever I am doing.
I cannot wait for what this new DECA year is going to bring. I am so excited to take our membership to a whole new level and see everyone on stage at our career development conference being rewarded for their hard work. I have been honored to serve as a state officer for two years, and I am truly grateful for this opportunity. This will be my fourth year in DECA, but not my last! I want to remind each member that you are WANTED! Wanted to make a difference in your school, community, and job. DECA is a powerful organization and I encourage you to take advantage of it. Take on a leadership role in your local chapter and enourage others to do the same. By getting everyone involved, you will be sure to make the year a success. You will be amazed at your new found confidence and professionalism. Make sure to continue to give back to DECA after graduation! Serve as a judge for your district or state competition, and become a member of the Friends and Alumni Association! Remember: WANTED...Only the Best...Stake your Claim in the Wild, Wild West!
